garymoller.com Gary Moller demonstrates how to manipulate the big toe in a case of hallux rigidus of “stiff big toe”. This video must be viewed alongside the articles by Gary Moller – Google search “gary moller hallux rigidus” and follow the links, thanks. Or – garymoller.com

How can I find a trained professional to do this for me in Las Vegas, NV? I have functional hallux limitus and have tried orthotics, stretches, etc..
Does this procedure work on Hallux Valgus in terms of addressing the deformity?
If not an it address HV in anyway?
29 Years ago I kicked a soccer goal post. I thought I sustained a hairline fracture. 29 years of pain. I went a podiatrist. He said replace the joint or perform a cheilectomy. Insurance deductible is $2,500.00. I tried Mollers method. The pain was not excruciating. My wife pulled hard but twisted slowly. The pain is gone. It feels like I had the operation and it has healed. I believe the joint was being irritated by the bone. When it was pulled and manipulated the joint had room to expand.
This worked for me. The first few times it hurt during and after. I could feel the grating movements in the joint. After two days I could move the first and second joint on its own..
You have to work through the pain. I just came from the shopping mall and no pain when I walk
Thank you very much.
and good work, gary ! thanks for the post
glad i found this. i had actually been doing something like this myself… yeah it HURTS… sometimes a LOT. but i really find relief after. and i am NOT going for having this thing freeze up on me: at least keep moving.
and surgery is a last resort… ALWAYS!!!
woggy – yes it can
Zizyphus99 is correct. You cannot manipulate a hallux rigidus joint better. This video is straight up a promotion to get someone to pay xxx.xx amount to get your toe moved around by gary moller who is not a Dr. I am sure you have some fine supplements you could probably sell people too?
I have some snake oil you can use for chain lube on your mountain and road bike there Gary. It will make you ride 10x’s faster than your friends.
To lose? Well, I’m guessing he’s not doing this for free. Plus your time. If you’re going to say that, then come to my office and I’ll rub peanut butter on your joints 3X a week @ $150 a pop. What is there to lose by trying MY procedure? Tell me the possible harm of my Peanut Butter treatment? Have YOU tried the PB Rub? He’s NOT a real doctor, he’s a chiropractor, so OF COURSE he is going to push (pun intended) what he is allowed to do rather than what he isn’t. Just like a voodoo doc..
dont hate that urs cant be fixed
Does this procedure work on hallux rigidus caused by a dorsal bunion on the metatasal, the joint space is still there
Does this works with Hallux Valgus?
theres another similar way instead of surgery?
it’s probably not great to do this when it’s acutely inflamed, but i’m gonna try that now it’s a little better
Viewers should go to my website and read the dozens of articles relating to this video. Google Search “gary moller foot pronation” and you will get most of these. You will also gather that this procedure works for many who were given no other option than surgery. Most cases of “Sore Big Toe” are not the extreme that zyzy describes. These will respond well to this procedure especially when backed up with nutrition interventions.
Hallux Limitus/hallux rigidus: Is there is nothing in between complete loss of joint and a perfectly healthy one? Of course there is! All cases are somewhere along that sliding continuum. Yes, the woman in the video does not have rigidus: This is a toe AFTER several weeks work. I agree she never had true rigidus.
What is there to lose in trying this procedure? Tell me the possible harm? Have you tried this procedure on your patients?
I was first introduced to this 20 years ago. It works.
Don’t believe this video. If you truly have Hallux Limitus or Rigidus NO AMOUNT of pulling and bending will fix it. Impossible. I’ve dealt with this for years. Just look at your x-rays and see how the joint has completely filled in, reducing the range of motion greatly. It’s not even shaped like a joint anymore. THIS IS NONSENSE. Get the joint TRULY FIXED by an orthopedic doctor… by the way this woman OBVIOUSLY DID NOT HAVE HALLUX LIMITUS OR HALLUX RIGIDUS. No swelling, no pain. Silly
I had gotten an injury from being hit by a car (I was a pedestrian) and my shoe fell off none the less I ended up with a foot injury. A few months later, my muscles had not fully healed and I got turf toe from running in the woods with really bad boots (jungle boots for anyone who cares). To tell you the truth, I would rather have 8 minutes of pain a week then not being able to do anything for my whole life. If only it was in NH.
I’ve suffered with this horribly painful condition for more than 10 years.
It’s been treated with cortisone injections and anti-inflammatory drugs.
I wish this treatment was available in Toronto.
But I would have to be put under general anaesthetic to have my toe moved like that.
The pain would be excruciating.. I’d end up punching the person doing it as a reflex action.
Awesome video, Gary!
It makes me wonder, though, if this therapy is a good idea if there are osteophytes causing impingement or joint space narrowing. Thoughts? I would like to present this non-surgical possible alternative to my podiatrist, but I’d like to have my ducks in a row, first.
Also, I think you’ve got a great website with lots of excellent information. Thanks!
See a podiatrist to conform the cause. It may be bunions from poor fitting shoes and/or a condition called hallux valgus
Yes, it certainly can. I have used this on many stiff joints with success as have many others over the years. First you should check with your Dr as to the cause of the swelling.
can thid be done with fingers? i have swollen and ainfull finger joints and im only 14, please let me know.
